Far from the world, nestled in the ancient forests of Lapland, you’ll find Villa Lapland – Rihmakuja 2. Here, where the cold air whispers stories and the wind hums old songs through the trees, 80 m² of retreat, tranquility, and reconnection await – surrounded by the untouched magic of the Finnish winter wonderland. Deep snow-covered forests, shimmering blankets of white, dancing northern lights and a silence that reaches the soul – this place speaks before it is even understood.
Our villa is more than just a holiday home. It is a place of arrival – featuring:
The Jacuzzi is more than just warm water: it invites quiet relaxation or cherished togetherness with a view of the snowy forest. A space where closeness regains meaning – and perhaps new plans take shape.
Wood inside, wilderness outside. Through the large windows, your gaze stretches to Mount Pallas, while the silence of the tundra fills the rooms. On cold nights, the northern lights dance above the roof – and if you listen closely, you may hear the old gods walking through the darkness.
A soundproof connecting door to the neighboring villa allows for expansion to 12 guests across 4 bedrooms and a total of 160 m² living space – ideal for families or groups of friends. Keep the door closed for absolute solitude.
After a day in the vast, untouched nature of Lapland, the evening ends best in the traditional garden sauna or Hottub – with a view over the open landscape and warm silence in the air, where the smoke remembers your ancestors.
Reaching Villa Lapland is already part of the journey: the road winds through forests, over quiet rivers, and into the wide open landscapes of the Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park. As you drive north, the horizon opens – mountains appear, snowfields stretch, and silence slowly takes over.
Villa Lapland lies at Rihmakuja 2, 99340 Raattama, a small and authentic village in the municipality of Kittilä. It is not a place you stumble upon by accident, but one you choose deliberately. The last kilometers lead you away from main roads into a world where nature speaks louder than traffic.
By plane: Nearest airports are Kittilä (70 km), Enontekiö (100 km), and Rovaniemi (280 km) – all with regular connections to Helsinki and seasonal flights from Europe. From there, a rental car is the most convenient way to continue.
By car: From Levi it takes about 1 hour; from Muonio about 35 minutes. Roads are well maintained year-round, even in deep winter. In winter we recommend considering AWD – though regular cars are usually sufficient.
Winter tires are mandatory in Finland from November to March. While “unstudded” winter tires are tolerated and often sufficient, the standard in Lapland is studded tires (spikes). Rental cars in the region are always equipped accordingly.
By train & bus: The closest railway station is Rovaniemi (220 km). From there, bus connections lead north to Kittilä and further into the Pallas region.
By car from Helsinki: For those who wish to begin the journey already in the south, the drive from Helsinki to Raattama covers about 1,100 km – almost entirely through endless forests, lakes, and quiet villages. It is not a short drive, but a rare experience in itself: a ribbon of road unfolding through pure wilderness. Many guests choose to fly to Kittilä or Rovaniemi instead – yet for some, the long drive becomes part of the story.
By taxi from the airport: Regular taxi services are available without waiting time at Kittilä Airport. Transfer to Raattama is approx. €250.
We strongly suggest traveling by car. In Lapland, distances are vast and public transport is limited. Having your own car allows you to explore hidden corners of the national park, nearby lakes and the ski areas at your own rhythm.
